October, 2007 Update:
The younger of the 2 gentlemen working on the site is Matt Brown
who is serving as the General Contractor for the project. The second
gentleman is a contractor from this area named James Bumpers. He
has taken the project to heart and is excited to be a part "seeing
people get healed up."
The initial phase of construction begun in October, 2007 is the
site preparation where the goal is to create a level, stable base
for the memorial to be constructed. Two days of dozer work by some
skilled "earth engineers" has brought the site from rugged
to ready. The next phase of construction will be the setting of
the forms for the pouring of the concrete slab. That work will be
done within the next 10 days to 2 weeks (Mid-November, 2007!).
